Toto was founded in 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro, David Paich (who at the time were also well-known studio players working with Boz Scaggs) and bassist/singer Bobby Kimball. In 1981 the third album by Toto Turn Back is a failure however, they bounce back with their fourth album Isolation with two hits, including the title track and Roseanna. The album and tour makes Toto a household name across the globe.
After a brief break, Toto returns with the album Fahrenheit. It marks a step away from the ballads of previous albums and includes some heavy rock. It was their first platinum album in North America.
